Now, more than ever, to reach more people with our information and services, Xpanxion must be ADA compliant. Here’s how we do that.

ADA Enforcement

The United States Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division ensures the Department's Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) enforcement efforts make it so people with disabilities can access Web sites, electronic book readers, online courses, and point-of-sale devices. Xpanxion makes every effort to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), Besides access to information, the internet should be accessible to all. There are monetary benefits included for all if compliance is followed.

Xpanxion started accessibility testing and design in late 2014 with a team of developers, testers, and subject matter experts. Because conditions change on the Internet, the technology that supports it must change as well. Xpanxion constantly learns and grows and adapts to those changes as they focus on their clients, assisting them to develop, update and maintain their accessible web sites and mobile applications.

As the web changes, Xpanxion meets the challenge those changes bring. They strive to make the web a better place for all users as they develop cost effective and reliable solutions with automated and manual testing to conform with the regulations.

Xpanxion has ADA accessibility audits, makes sure your website conforms and is maintained, and their remediators and testers produce the highest quality of accessible technologies to keep the original look, feel, and function.

Five Ways You Should be ADA Compliant

Why be compliant?

  • You can avoid legal complications. Not being accessible can discriminate. Who wants to be sued?
  • Economic increasing profits. Disabled people are loyal to companies promoting access, and thus bring in their support groups of family, friends, and fellow workers. With other means of accessibility, your customers have another way to access your content. Think of captioning on videos posted on a site such as LinkedIn.
  • More accurate searches. Rich text makes search engines find your website more easily. If they do find you, that means more interest and business done.
  • More usable. Give text clarity and the site better appearance along with other features being more appealing makes it user friendly for everyone. For example, don’t mix fonts and keep to a simple font.
  • It’s the correct thing to demonstrate, present, and maintain.

How Xpanxion Complies

According to Xpanxion’s Director of ADA Compliance, Bob Hall, “We ensure our website meets ADA (WCAG 2.1 AA) requirements which would enable anyone using assistive technologies, such as text-to speech software or limited mobility users, to access all our online and digital content. Captions for videos and proper color contrast ratios are all part of this WCAG 2.1 AA process.”

Tim Hanley, Xpanxion’s Senior ADA QA Analyst says, “Xpanxion is currently working for a large California based law firm specializing in website accessibility, litigation, and counseling. Xpanxion’s ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act)/WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) Team has been responsible for assessment, reporting, and guidance for 70+ clients in the services industries sectors while testing for WCAG 2.0/2.1 AA compliance for web and mobile applications.” Furthermore, he adds, “Per NDAs, SOWs, and MSAs we cannot provide specific client pages beyond our own website as examples.”
