Starting in 2006, Xpanxion pioneered a movement called rural outsourcing. Rural outsourcing is the concept of utilizing pockets of talent pools outside of large metropolitan areas. Similar to offshore outsourcing, this form of domestic sourcing offers a cost savings due to the lower cost of living associated with rural areas which is attractive to our customers, but the positives don’t end there. These positions are actively bringing jobs back to the US that have been lost to offshore competition. Rural outsourcing can offer a cost effective, high-quality alternative to other solutions. The jobs we create boost local economies and provide highly sought after positions – locals no longer need to move to large cities to find an IT career that is challenging and rewarding.
Our first rural center was opened in Kearney, Nebraska near the hometown of our CEO Paul Eurek. Initially only operating as a proof of concept, the success of the operation was soon clear. Improved client satisfaction and high growth quickly followed the opening of the Kearney office, and due to its success, it started a wave of new Xpanxion offices across the center of the country. We now proudly operate five rural hubs in four states. While we choose to live and work in small communities, our combined population pools allow us to handle the influx of new growth and gives the capacity to scale to the demand of our clients. Our version of rural outsourcing has quickly turned from an experiment into a movement that is still gaining momentum.
