Xpanxion to expand their QA facility in Kearney, Nebraska
Xpanxion, LLC, an Atlanta-based global software engineering company, started operating in Kearney in November 2006. The company announced in September they will expand their software quality assurance center in Kearney by adding another 15 employees within the next 12 months.
"This expansion would not be possible without the considerable help of the College of Business & Technology at the University of Nebraska at Kearney," said Paul Eurek, chairman and founder of Xpanxion. "The university turns out excellent business graduates with emphasis in information technology and we depend upon them as a source of labor for Xpanxion.
"Xpanxion represents the beginning of a new industry cluster to this area of Nebraska and Kearney," said Timothy Loewenstein, chairman of the Buffalo County Economic Development Council. "We want to be sure we are doing all we can to nurture this company and industry to great heights of success."
Xpanxion's continued success and growth at the Kearney, Nebraska QA and Test Center is refreshing news. While Xpanxion does funnel the programming and some of the QA work to its office overseas, a core component of the software testing and customer technical support is completed out of the Kearney office.
Xpanxion, founded in 1997, is a global software engineering services company with CMM Level 4 and ISO0--1:2000 certifications that help enterprises and technology companies engineer or re-engineer their applications.

Kearney, Nebraska Selected as Home for Xpanxion's New, High-Tech Quality Assurance and...
KEARNEY, Neb. -- Xpanxion, an Atlanta-based provider of global software development services, has announced plans to relocate a segment of its software testing operations and quality assurance (QA) program from Pune, India to Kearney, Nebraska. The center is scheduled to open this summer and could ultimately bring dozens of high-tech jobs and hundreds of thousands of dollars in economic development to this rural Nebraska community. It also clearly demonstrates how America's heartland can compete for high value jobs in the wake of global outsourcing.
This innovative software development model, dubbed "Cross-Sourcing" by Xpanxion, combines the best elements of local, offshore, and rural outsourcing. It allows clients to control their costs while eliminating many of the logistical and cultural challenges that have traditionally plagued offshore development projects. The result is that Xpanxion can employ American workers to add to the overall value proposition of outsourcing, without sacrificing the offshore price advantage. Opening the center in central Nebraska will allow the community to retain its technical workforce who otherwise would migrate to larger cities or out of state to find high-tech jobs.
"Cross-Sourcing allows us to parlay the economic value of our programming team in "Cross-Sourcing allows us to parlay the economic value of our programming team in India, the expertise of on-site project managers in Atlanta, and the high work ethic and quality standards of the Nebraska workforce," said Paul Eurek, Xpanxion's CEO, a Nebraska native who grew up not far from Kearney. "It also allows us to take advantage of several government incentive programs in Nebraska aimed at increasing the presence of IT industries in rural areas."
Such government programs have had a tremendous impact on the redevelopment of Nebraska businesses. In the past five years alone, $72.6 million in federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding has been invested in 400 projects statewide and has resulted in the creation of over 3,000 jobs across the state. Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman said, "We're excited to see companies like Xpanxion investing in our rural communities and local workforce. Businesses in this industry are an important part of our overall strategy for economic development here in our state, and the CDBG program plays a key role in helping attract new development and expansion. It's also very encouraging to see native Nebraskans providing opportunities for others to return to Nebraska."
Speaking for Xpanxion, Mr. Eurek provided additional evidence of the value of these great programs. "We expect to recruit talent from local and neighboring regions, and also Nebraska natives who have moved away for technical work and want to return to Nebraska. Recruiting is our number one priority for the Central Nebraska Center." He also expects the University of Nebraska at Kearney to be a valuable source of recruits.
For Eurek, this project represents a win-win venture that will bring jobs back to the U.S., and improve the quality of the outsourced product while maintaining the lower software development costs that companies have come to depend on. Xpanxion was an early adopter of the hybrid model of U.S.-India outsourcing and is committed to taking this approach to the next level.

Xpanxion Donates Portion of Project Revenues to Atlanta Ronald McDonald Houses; Offshore Development Company Supports Local Cause...
Atlanta Ronald McDonald Houses Charities, Inc. announced today it's the recipient of a generous donation from Xpanxion, an Atlanta-based offshore software development and IT support company.
The contribution to the Atlanta Ronald McDonald Houses (ARMH) resulted from a portion of the revenue Xpanxion received for its work with The Coca-Cola Company, a longtime supporter of ARMH and Ronald McDonald House Charities worldwide.
Serving close to 2,000 families each year, ARMH provide families who must travel to Atlanta for medical treatment with comfortable housing and emotional support while their children receive critical medical treatment from neighboring hospitals.
"We're grateful Xpanxion has been so generous," said Linda Morris, executive director of Atlanta Ronald McDonald Houses Charities. "Xpanxion's donation to ARMH will definitely help to fulfill the operational goals of our organization this year."
"Xpanxion's management and its employees want to give back to the community," said Paul Eurek, an Xpanxion partner. "Whenever there is an overall slowdown in the economy, charities are often caught in the budget crunch and don't receive the number of donations they require to help those in need. It's during a time like this that corporate giving must be shouldered by companies of all sizes, not just the largest and seemingly most capable."
Xpanxion has the skill-set and experience to create software for a wide-array of industries and platforms. Its team of highly skilled software engineers in Pune, India helps companies reduce development costs and shorten delivery time on key projects.
